FASHION RESPECT

We Love and Thank
OSBORN shoes
blogsigDB

A little while ago I mentioned that I would hunt down some cool thangs that are a bit awesome to look at, but also have respect for the planet and the people. Osborn and the family that is involved in creating such lovely shoes deliver just that....

So next time you decide to go on a rampage shopping spree choose a brand that supports the creators and lessen the impact on the planet in one way or another. Try to re-use your clothes or shoes, otherwise donate or give to a grassroots establishment. Only buy it if you need it!...and keep it outta landfill peoples!

A line or two from Osborn shoes here
Each and every Osborn shoe represents not only a fashionable statement, but also a step in the right direction in respects to world employment and sourcing standards - we believe it is ever more important to know where your valuables come from.

WHO RUN THIS MOTHER?

Dem Bones has been cruising on road trips, adventuring and enjoying some much needed escape time. Like everyone, we need to delve into chill out mode to get away from all the busy bright lights. Back to basics and simplify. Following this sense of making things a little less hectic, we wanted to start bringing you some inspiro on how you can be kind the planet as well as yourself. Intrigued? We will be around to give you some style tricks and hunted gurl thangs that might just show you how you can help out mother nature (Cos we only got one). Peace out gurls. XO

PS. We are still collecting and hunting vintage threads - planning our next buying trip in the near future.

MELBOURNE VINTAGE GETS BONED by YO MAFIA

Peek at THE VINE interview with Monique @ DBV by Mafia HERE!

We Love and Thank
The Vine
Yo Mafia

1. HOW DID DEM BONES COME TOGETHER?
A long love affair with adventure, hunting, dress ups and fabrics. These vices were infused with a
background in fashion and film styling that created the magic that DBV is today.

2. WHAT WAS AND IS MISSING IN THE MARKET RIGHT NOW, THAT MAKES
DEM BONES SUCH A NECESSITY?

DBV prides itself on sourcing and delivering a rich variety of designs and fabrics. Creating a cohesive
vintage collection and keeping trends in mind is essential. DBV avoids sourcing bulk quantities
without reviewing and inspecting the garment individually first hand. Being very selective about
DBV’s aesthetic expression makes for an easy find for all vintage lovers; that want to snap up
something amazing without having to do the work themselves.

3. WHEN SCOURING FOR PRODUCT, WHAT ARE THE MAIN REQUISITES IN MAKING
SURE THEY FULFIL THE DEM BONES LEGACY?

Delving into a theme, endlessly researching and creating a storyboard is usually where I start so I know exactly what I am hunting for. Using my intuition and being aware of what surrounds or influences me at this time is also important. Sourcing product usually takes a "game on approach" so being ready to travel and have your hunt locked and loaded is key.

4. YOU'RE INCREDIBLY INFLUENCED BY TEXTURES AND THE TACTILITY OF THE
THINGS AROUND YOU....WHERE DOES THIS STEM FROM?

I was exposed to various surroundings growing up which encompassed vibrant gardens, forests, farms
and lush coastal surroundings. Adventuring whilst snowboarding and surfing has also given DBV a
layered palate of inspiration. Circa 70’s, 80’s and 90’s have all impacted my passion for elaborate
pattern, design and colour. Imagination and daydreaming have also been a
massive part of DBV's aesthetic.

5. DO YOU THINK YOU'LL EVENTUALLY BRANCH OUT INTO
YOUR OWN DEM BONES APPAREL AT ANY STAGE?
My focus has always revolved around sustainability, recycling and re-inventing. The aim is to lessen
the impactful elements that affect our planet by not producing more.
Less is so much more. Quality and craft over quantity.

DEM BONES For your eyes only...

We Love and Thank
Mike D
Seala
Nazey
Ness
We have been unleashing an unusual amount of creativity these past few weeks. Our last shoot which was out of this world good came together through hilarious moments, a killer playlist and the best fruit platter you have ever seen. The talented eye behind this lense is one Mike D. This collaboration has found the face of Dem Bones. We would like to name her 'Sea', she is a humble artist from Byron Bay with a heart and style that takes over a quiet room. This amazing creatively talented gal is adorned with house made tattoos specifically three outlines of skulls on her leg, plays the drums and guitar, makes sculptures and has effortless cool on many levels. She had us at her bones tatttoos. I think we have found the Dem Bones team. Buckle your belts there is so much more to come this week. Hell Yeah! xo
